Quite empty here, time to bring in some life!
I'm a writer / director / D.O.P. located in germany and think that production models such as this one are the future for indie film production. We are a completely indipendent production house (cottage actually), earning money with industry projects and ads, investing what we've earned in our own projects. We shot our first feature length film during the last two years, that is currently in post production. We have a core team, own equipment - light, sound, camera, grip, postpro... got FX folks, composers, everything is in place. We also develop equipment. We are world's first production that shot a film with a self developed digital cinema camera (http://www.drachenfeder.com/aktuelles/drake_hd_en.htm). We also build a remote crane, portable daylightlight casters, a field surround sound recorder.... you name it. Whatever expensive gear you can find out there, we build it indie style. So we got a lot to throw into the pot, just not much money. But we are not a rental house. I'm an award winning writer and all the tech stuff is just tools. I believe in sttory telling and intelligent mainstream cinema. So, hope to meet some soul mates here :)
It all looks rather new doesn't it?
Perhaps I am a soul mate, I am a writer who also is very much in favour of good storytelling in cinema. I don't have the tech gear, I'm contracting that in for my first project. As you may guess, I'm realtively new to this world, just a little over two years into my first film. But the plan is to make it count. ;)
From member Phillip Lamb...
"Hello. I am not a professional like yourself, but I do write from time to time. I was once involved in the film treatment called "DIVVY" about the late "DIVINE". I had many contacts for that treatment including his own mother, John Waters, ricki Lake and others. It got shut down by his former manager Bernard Jay. I now have a treatment, it is a sci-fi...wait! Don't leave...I want to do it in b/w. I'm thinking the perfect person to play the lead is Marco Hofschneider...he has the look of the main character and he is a wonderful actor. He would not be made up like the character he played in "The Island of Doctor Moreau". It is plain and very simple...but powerful. I would love to share it with someone with vision. I think of cinema as a giant canvas...and the creation we put to it lives forever...like a real painting. Phillip Lamb. My email is espklamb@peoplepc.com"
